Snow is falling, cold approaching.
Who is friend and who is pseudo?
Everybody for himself, everybody in a rush.
Union vs. management, police vs. people,
I am confused. Everybody is playing stupid.
Is my glass of water half full or half empty?
Should I vote for democrats or republicans?
No matter how I vote, the mess will be the mess, maybe more, maybe less.
News and culture, politicians and judges are modern day show.
People are judged by how they look, not by the actions or merit.
Little has changed from the Civil Rights Movement in sixties.
Few days ago I received one paper in mail.
The name is Summons for Standby Jury Service, or Jury Duty in short.
Juror number, Service date, time, court name, and address are written in black.
With stamp of the state, an eagle who eats small tape in the mouth.
Below the notice that failure to serve is a fine.
I wonder how much may I pay for not serving in court?
Below, some info about food, searches, court info, phone numbers for those who can’t speak English.
I wonder if they can’t speak English how can they talk on the phone in English?
Also, there are few words for hardship, medical excuse, few phone numbers.
Plus little survey which called Juror Info Form, just 10 yes or no boring questions.
They want to know my employer, my home phone number, my criminal records and so on, and so forth.
Who should I appreciate for such honor?
First of all, thank you Mr. President, thank you Mr. Governor.
Thank you my elected officials and judges.
It is an honor to serve as juror, thank you so much, all of you.
I want to quit my job in order to serve as a juror more often.
It is ridiculous. For 17 dollars a day why should I waste, suffer whole day?
Tell me why?
I make $17.00 per hour on my job, so you pay me at least $200.00 per day.
Why should I be searched as a common criminal in the entrance?
Why can’t I drink and eat my food in a hallway?
Why should I follow judge orders and be surrounded by some stupid police?
One question from me and they will put me in jail for asking smart questions.
No way, Jose, I am not taking part in this show.
I am just curious who take part in this show?
None of my co-workers serve in the court, none of my friends, or my relatives.
It looks like only young, poor, retirees who have nothing else to do serve as a jury these days…
No wonder the system is so screwed up.
